I believe in Christ, but I do not go to church. It's just a personal choice, I feel that a lot of churches have become commercial or money mongers. I understand tithing, but some of these churches take it too far. I live in the LA area so please understand, I am not saying that all churches are like this. But being commercial or driving the nicest car is the only thing a pastor is concerned about and God made it possible for him to drive a Rolls so don't be mad at him. They are the ones destroying it.
I was always taught that the most important part of going to church wasn't just to hear the Word, but for fellowship. That you need it to remain strong in your faith. I have to say, my husband isn't a "Christian" or any other designated religious term. He doesn't have one necessary "belief". He has studied many religions like Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc., and has a good overall knowledge of them all. He believes in a higher power, but not necessarily that Christ is the son of God. We have had many conversations about religion, and it is my belief that it is what you feel in your heart and soul. Every "holy" book ever written, such as the bible, the Koran and the Torah are all written by man and remember, man is a sinner and lier by nature, so how do we know what is really true? We don't. We read what has been written by man and try our best to practice it. If we choose to believe it, then so be it. But you have to feel it in your heart and soul.
