Some cell phones allow you to add new ringtones by code over the web, and there are many ways to take advantage of this new technology. This is actually quite easy, provided you have a decent phone. If your phone can receive email, read on.
You need to make sure you can use binary ringtones on your cell phone. This is important so check your manual. Without this ability you will not be able to send ringtones through binary code and thus will not be able to download one from an email.
The first key is to find a site that allows you to download ringtones. There are so many it is just crazy. Do any search engine query and you will find one, or try the following reference site: www.cellphones.about.com/od/byphonebrand1/a/bb_cool. htm.
That done, select your ringtone. Then click the "try it on your phone" option. Select the format right for your phone. It the test works click "send it to your phone" option. Prove your number and the company's name.
You will need to give them your phone's email address. This is your full phone number (all ten digits) with no hyphen then an "@" and your cellular company's email extension. Check with the company or your manual to find out what this is.
And there you have it. This is a very simple process and should be more fun than challenging. There are a plethora of ringtones out there and you should be spending your time perusing and trying them, not sending them. Now you know.
