I have been a long time subscriber to Spider-Man comics since I was a young boy. I still remember the original announcement that Marvel would be making a movie, way back when they expected Doctor Octopus as the feature villain. As an avid fan, let me tell anybody doubting this movie that it will be good. Not only will this movie be good, you will be begging for more.
It is very close to impossible to make this movie incorrectly. The story has been hashed, rehashed, and distributed to multimedia many times, and I have never found it anything less than satisfactory. What gets me so excited about this movie in particular is how far special effects have come (even since the original Spider-man) as well as the success of the movie franchise. Expectations are high, budgets are high, and so you know that the people working on the movie have to feel a certain pinch when working on it.
Even if we barely get to see the alien suit, or Venom for that matter, we still get introduced to characters fans have been waiting to see for a while. Fan-boys must be dying to see what role Gwen Stacy will exactly play in the movie.
I will admit though, that super hero movies can be messed up; horribly. X-men 3 did nothing but prove that. However I believe that given the rock-steady nature of the franchise in delivering quality film, as well as the progression of all the teasers released since last summer; that Spider-Man 3 will at the very worst be similar to a Pirates of the Caribbean 2. A huge spectacle of special effects without having any plot resolution, and merely set up a Spider-Man 4. The best case scenario involves me dying a happy man by seeing Venom on screen in a better way than I could have ever imagined.
