Chocolate Jesus for Easter: Blessing or blasphemy?

How anybody could find the image of Jesus created in chocolate offensive is beyond me. I am admittedly not a Christian but even so; do not feel that the concept of Jesus being carved in chocolate around Easter time could reasonably (or should for that matter) offend anybody.

Every Easter just as with Christmas religion is put aside in most cases while crass commercialism kicks in. It may be the time of year that Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected but rather than acknowledging the occasion with a mass and perhaps some quiet reflection, lets just invent another imaginary friend for our children by telling them a giant bunny rabbit has left chocolate eggs all over the place and encourage them to go find them.

Quite what Easter has to do with rabbits, chickens or eggs is beyond me and I have to admit to finding a chocolate Jesus far less offensive to Christian perspectives than a chocolate rabbit or egg.

Unless it was dark chocolate

There are a lot of Christians still clinging to a bizarre theory that Jesus was white.
