The benefits of exercise

The benefits of exercise are well documented in numerous studies. Mental as well as physical positives occur. Recent research into Alzheimer's patients finds exercise may delay or prevent the disease. The mental faculties benefit from a good work-out too. "Runners high", is also attributed to exercise. Regular morph-ins increase during exercise and the individual gets acclimated to a good feeling. Missing a few work-outs after experiencing the "high", may lead to a let down psychologically.

Exercise is now being touted as the new fountain of youth. Senior citizen programs are numerous through-out the country, as 50 becomes the new 30. Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey are using exercise to stay fit, young, and active, while encouraging their fans to do the same. Physically- weight loss, control of blood pressure, muscle tone, and cholesterol balance, all add to excellent overall fitness through exercise.
