Nine Inch Nails, now there is a band that dug their claws in and refused to let go. They were probably the most controversial and intense band to work its way into the heart of the grunge movement, then rip that heart out and splatter it on the ground!
With Trent Reznor's psychotic appearance coupled with their dark videos and even darker music, NIN made sure there was just nothing out there to compare them to. And yet, amazingly, they made it onto mainstream MTV and managed to gain a popular fan following despite desperate outcries from parents and concerned citizens everywhere.
Now, the absolutely most insane part about it (if the rest wasn't enough) is that they are still on sold-out tours! I have to admit I haven't seen them in years, but I have to also admit that I'm damned curious. What are they like today? Is it going to be stale old stuff or something completely new? I guess I'll have to wait for them to get back from their German-British-Japanese-Austra lian tour to figure it out!
