What happened to music in today's world

I'll never forget rushing through K-Mart to buy Kiss Alive II. So damn excited I could scarcely count my rumbled bills out to the cashier. I had mowed two or three yards for that and Darn it I wanted to go home and listen.
Unfortunately for me, my mother had a full day of shopping planned. Finally to quiet me she gave me a couple bucks to go over to the small food court the Kroger Center had. There I ordered a large milk shake and two corn dogs which came to just above a dollar. This was a while back. With abnormally little regard to my food I ripped into that album like Christmas morn. The first thing I can remember is Ace Frehely's smoking guitar

and Gene's bloody mouth as he was spewing blood, I forget what Peter Criss and Paul Stanley were doing. It seems like this was also right out on the back of the album so fortunately my parents we're liberal towards music. Well, they had to be they were still into the Beatles, The Eagles, Jackson brown, Jethro Tull and before I got into it, Led Zeppelin.
I was but seven years old when I bought that Kiss album, the same year I wrote my first song ironically titled The Damn Jail Cell. From seven to eight or nine years old Kiss was my entire existence.
Around ten while visiting my Grandparents in Dayton, Ohio a friend from down the street took me to his enchanted musical basement. He had a stereo and more albums and 8 Tracks than I'd ever seen. In that one night I
quite possibly formed my musical taste for years to come.
No pot or beer involved just the magic of Myself, Johnny, his older sister Rachel I had a huge crush on and all that music.
At John's insistence we started with Fog Hat, the one with Slow Ride on it. At ten years old I already had the dream of playing music. Because of Gene Simmons I liked the Bass. However I had never heard bass played like the break down in Fog hat. I kept looking at my comrades wondering if they were getting it. Apparently they we're ahead of me. Next was Bachman Turner Overdrive, I was hooked instantly, where had this been? I wondered.
Seems Like Boston was up next and I fell in love all over again. Credence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones, Lynard Skynard, Black Sabbath,
Ted Nugent, Beach Boys (immediate obsession again) Sytx, he played me the Renegade and I went crazy! ZZ Top, Grand Funk Rail Road, Jimmy Hendrix, Ohio Players, Eddie Money (wasn't crazy about that but his 13 year old blonde haired sister was so I acted like I was.)
We were up until daylight listening, smoking
