The story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young boy in the Konoha Leaf Village, is one for everyone to follow. Naruto Uzumaki was an orphan, as his parents died sealing the curse of the nine-tailed fox inside of him. The series starts off with him as a young child - he is lonely, regarded by his entire village as a monster (referring to the nine-tailed fox inside of him).

However, that quickly changes. Naruto graduates from the young ninja school and becomes a team with Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. More about each of the main characters is revealed in action-filled episodes. Naruto and team mates travel all over the land fulfilling the various missions that Konoha receives.

The next main thing in the series that happens is Orochimaru, an evil ninja that attacks Konoha, killing the Third Hokage and severely damaging the rest of the village. It is slowly revealed that Orochimaru wants to transfer his soul into Sasuke's body, a much younger and stronger person. Orochimaru eventually reaches out to Sasuke to bring him. Sasuke leaves the Hidden Leaf Village and the next part of the series is devoted to Naruto's hunt for Sasuke.

Then, Akatsuki is revealed. A group of the strongest and evilest ninja have formed together under one group to obtain all sorts of power. Itachi Uchiha and a companion come to the Hidden Leaf Village to attempt to take Naruto's nine-tailed fox power. Other members of Akatsuki, such as Sasori of the Red Sands are also revealed.

With the third Hokage's death, Jiraiya takes Naruto to find his friend, Tsunade, to convince her to become the fourth Hokage. After a long journey Naruto and Tsunade learn alot and she assumes the role of Hokage.

As of 2007, the "filler" episodes of Naruto have now stopped. Naruto Shippuuden is now the title for all Naruto episodes, featuring much faster plotlines and the same action-filled episodes that have made the 200+ episode series the success it is today.
