Annual lawn care is year-round lawn care, and can be expensive, depending on your location and the size of your lawn. So, is it worth the cost to have a worry-free lawn? Or are their better ways to spend that money?

The lawn care business has increased ten-fold here in the southern United States in just the last few years. I suspect a lot of this is due to laziness, although busier schedules are also on the rise. It takes a few hours a week minimum, to maintain the average size lawn.

If I had the spare change to pay for lawn care, I would sell my Snapper in a heartbeat. I do have one advantage..I don't punch a clock, so I can find time in between plumbing jobs for domestic chores. Plus I don't really mind yard work, however, I would gladly pay to have it done if I could afford it.

Professional lawn care is more than just cutting the grass. Most pros offer different packages, simple summertime grass and weed cutting to year-round lawn maintenance. They will treat and fertilize your lawn, blow and bag fall leaves, as well as keep debris picked up. This full service is usually paid for in monthly installments, while grass cutting can be "payment due when service rendered."

So, in this writer's opinion, annual lawn care is definitely worth the money, especially for busy people with young children. But if you enjoy the outdoors, save your money, and buy yourself a nice, new hammock to kick back in after you cut the grass.
