There are a couple of points I would like to make about this fiasco with that idiot Imus. First of all, I just want to point out that Don Imus is, was, and will continue to be an idiot for a long time to come. He is a meaningless TV and radio figure who is taken seriously by exactly 0% of the population. But none-the-less I have to chime in on this one because of the ridiculousness of some people out there.

First and foremost is the part of this controversy that I just cannot understand. Why is everyone talking about "nappy-headed ho" when this man (in the year 2007) referred to these ladies as "Jigaboos". What is this nonsense about whether or not this was racial or sexist. Since when has "Jigaboos" not been racial? Who are we kidding?

Now some people raise the question, should he be fired? I can only answer that with another question....why now? This isn't the first time Imus insulted a race, gender, religion or anything else. He's pretty much been the same prick for the last 20 years. So why fire him now? The answer to that question is..another question...why not now? The problem for Imus is that for whatever reason, this time he actually got some attention and guess what old man...people don't like it. They don't like it, and they don't like you. So people decided that this time, they would get outraged and your sponsors pulled. Hence, your ass got canned! Last I checked, that's how things work in this country. It all goes right back to IDIOT! Racists are ignorant. Sexists are ignorant. Most people don't want to sit around and listen to an ignorant old fool, so your ass got canned.

My last point is probably the most important of all, because some people need some educating. The people I am referring to are those yelling about how this is a 1st Amendment issue..Free Speech...blah blah blah. Listen carefully people, because I hear this argument all the time and its nonsense! In this country we have what is called Freedom of Speech. What that means is that THE GOVERNMENT cannot stop us from expressing our opinions about ANYTHING. Racism, conspiracy theories, foul language, bad taste, you name it and its protected under the Freedom of Speech. So what that means is that THE GOVERNMENT cannot stop us from expressing our opinion about anything. The key words in that sentence is THE GOVERNMENT. Freedom of Speech doesn't mean you get to say whatever the hell you want to say with no consequence. Freedom of Speech means, THE GOVERNMENT cannot arrest you for saying what you say. They cannot shut down your radio or TV station for you saying what you say. In those cases, you freedom to speak is protected. However, you are NOT protected from being ridiculed, criticized, or even boycotted. You are NOT protected from your EMPLOYER firing your free speaking ass whenever he/she feels like you have stepped over the line. This isn't about the First Amendment, its about an idiot! An idiot who should have been fired for being an idiot, a long time ago!
