I am a man. That is a fact that I cannot change, and would never change. Even though I am a man, I do consider some of the leaders of the feminist movement from 1900-1970 my personal heroes, but now a days, I do not support such a movement and here is why...
1. Equality
The women of previous generations have brought women to an equal scale with men. Now that equality is threatened by women who claim to be working for women's rights. It now takes on the form of discrimination.
2. Too radical
Recent events (Don Immus) have shown us that you can't talk bad about women, however I could not count how many times everyday I hear women cracking jokes and saying things like "All men are..." and "Men are only interested in...". If you would put the shoe on the other foot, a man would be fired for it.
3. Paradox
There are still stereotypes on men that conflict the views of women. Men are not suppose to stay at home with the children, Men are not suppose to be nurses, secretaries, or airline attendants (to name a few). There are no feminists trying to change these things, if they want equality, they should stop fighting for preferential treatment.
I can't help but remember the feminist outcry against the Duke Lacrosse players, out of blind rage. Now that they have been proven innocent, there are no apologies to note, kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?
