Sending a ringtone to your cell phone by email for free?

I have investigated this and cannot get any definitive answers as to how you can do such a thing, many experts have told me that attachments in your mobile phone email address cant be opened, you can purely send and receive text via the email service on your mobile phone.

I can however give one option for getting free ringtones to your mobile via the internet access or WAP on your phone, which I guess is along the same line.

There is an internet based cell phone community website called Zedge.
Zedge is a website that users can upload ringtones, wallpapers, games etc into and share them for free with other Zedge users.

Firstly, type www.zedge.net into your search engine on your home computer and follow the registration steps to set up your account.

Once this simple process has been completed you can then take advantage of any of the sites downloads to your cell phone for free. Basically, other members have uploaded files from their cell phone to the site for you to use on your cell phone, a file share community if you like.

Once you have chosen from the many thousands of ringtones, wallpapers or even games, getting them to your cell phone is easy. Obviously, you will need to have WAP capabilities on your cell, most modern phones have this as standard.

Once you have accessed the internet on your cell you must then type a search for the Zedge website (wap.zedge.net) and enter your login details. Once logged in, the items you have chosen earlier via your home computer will we waiting to be downloaded to your cell, this is done by simply clicking the Download Now option.

Zedge will not charge you a penny for this service, the only charge you will incur will be the cost of accessing the internet from your cell phone provider, this is a standard theme with all cell phone providers and costs are minimal. Why send texts to expensive sites that offer novelty ringtones, etc. that cost around 1.50 a time when the likelihood is that it will be posted on the Zedge community website free of charge?

I believe it's well worth a look at this growing community that boasts over 4.4 million members already, remember; type www.zedge.net into your search engine and take a look for yourself.
