Yes, Don Imus said racial slurs towards the Rutgers Womens Basketball team. He was trying to be funny if you watched his clip. Unlike Mel Gibson's drunken "f- Jews" comment, I don't think Imus was trying to be a racist or is one. You can also add the dweeb from Seinfeld with his constant "You're a N" rant at a comedy club then afterwards apologizing to "Afro-Americans." Both of those guys were racist in anger. Mel Gibson's words, whose Dad doesn't believe the Holocaust happened, might be seen as the drunken tongue speaketh the sober mind.
If Imus can't say what he did (which he shouldn't have), why can African-American rappers say the "N" word all the time and call women "b*tches" and ho's" all the time as well? How about Chris Rock doing the same? Watching Chris Rock you would think the "N" word is his vocabulary with a lot of obscenities throw in.
How do I know Imus isn't a racist? His charity does provide just about everything for minority kids on his ranch. Of course, minus the alleged pedophilia of Michael Jackson. I see no DEMAND on a ban of Jackson's records even though he paid one kid $20 million.
So, while African-Americans like Rev. Jesse Jackson, don't mention his love child and the IRS investigation into his "charity" that also gave money to the Duke woman who filed false rape charges, and Rev. Al Sharpton are calling for Imus to be fired and it happened, maybe they should call HBO and ask Chris Rock to get fired for his racial slurs towards African-Americans and a ban on his DVDs.
By the way, why isn't the Duke woman not being prosecuted for filing false rape charges? Where is Jesse and Al, who were there demanding the kids get hanged, on her charges of rape that were a total crock? As usual, didn't fit their agenda. Even her fellow stripper said she was lying. But, she pulled the proverbial race card and everyone jumped on except the truth. Just ask the prosecutor who used it to get reelected that is facing being disbarred, sued, and maybe prosecuted.
And, while we are talking racism, why isn't Bill Maher getting the boot for calling all people that believe in God basically mental cases?
How about Howard Stern? His radio show is nothing but a steady stream of sexual obscenities and innuendos. So bad, he left radio for satellite radio and $500 million. The FCC was close to shutting him down. But, I guess Stern's listeners have no problem with his hormones raging and mouth spewing sexual trash towards women.
The simple truth: White people can't say the
