Uses and benefits of the cultivated mushroom

More delicious and Nutritious!
There are two kinds of mushrooms generally cultivated and brought to market for culinary use. Both are used to create delicious foods, while they are more nutritious too.

Button Mushroom:

One is Button Mushroom, as the name indicates it looks like bold spherical coat buttons. They are cultivated in trays over organic media. When they are well grown they are taken from the trays.

The root and stem portions are removed as the buttons are cut, cleaned and packed for market.

Oyster Mushroom:

Another is oyster mushroom. The white pearly oyster mush room is cultivated in straw medium. The straws are cut into pieces, soaked and squeezed and spread on trays or put in plastic bags with the mushroom seed materials. The mushroom grows and ready for harvest in three weeks time.

The leaf like spreading fruit bodies of the mushrooms are the parts used in cooking. The roots and the stems are removed as usual.

You can make very simple tasty mushroom delicacies in a few minutes every time! You can make use any of the two mushroom varieties.

Mushroom Gravy:

1. Mushrooms are cut into large pieces and washed.
2. Large onions, capsicum, celery, spring onion are cut into linear pieces.
3. Small quantity of cooking oil is taken in a Chinese woke. Just on heating, all the above ingredients are added one by one and shallow fried. Finally the cut mushrooms are added, followed by a little of water and small quantity of salt.
4. While being cooked, add a little of chilly powder with a powder of spices containing cinnamon and clove for a special taste. The cooked mushroom delicacy is removed from fire, when the gravy is thickened sufficiently.

This mushroom gravy' is a nice side dish for all wheat preparations like bread, chapattis, parathas etc.

Mushrooms Chilly Fries:

1. Simply cut 200 grams of mushrooms into pieces and wash it and press on a absorbing cloth to dry the excess water.

2. Mix a small quantity of red chilly powder with corn flour, garlic ginger paste, an half of a broken fresh egg, a little each of cooking salt, Chinese salt and red food color powder. This will come into a red chilly paste for mixing with the cut mushrooms. Mix and soak for about 15 minutes.

3. Heat some cooking oil in a Chinese woke; take cake not to over heat such that it should not release oil fumes.
Just deep fry the red chilly mushrooms, turn and fry so that it is crispy. Just spread fried mushrooms on absorbent papers to dry the oil adhering on the tasty bites.

While you taste your favorite main dish, bite and chew' this mushroom chilly fries!
