A good gift for the nature lover in your life is not necessarily one of an expensive monetary nature but one of a sentimental nature. There are so many different ways to be a nature lover; bird watching, hiking, camping (my personal favorite), canoeing, kayaking and the list goes on. Giving the appropriate gift depends on what the nature lover enjoys. If you are lucky enough to know the gift recipient well and how they channel their love of nature, finding the right gift will be easy. A truely unique gift and one that has a broad price range is a journal. As my family and I camp across this beautiful country I write stories on the places that we visit and keep my dearest memories in my journal. Although my son is not old enough to read the journal I am keeping it for him when he is older. I want him to be able to read the journal and understand how we spent time together as a family during his youth. I make sure to describe any beautiful scenery that we see, special area attractions that we visited and funny situations that happened to us during our trip. You can buy a plain journal and embellish the cover with your own materials (adding depth to the quality of the gift) or you can purchase a beautiful journal that speaks for itself. In this hectic world memories are priceless and so is nature. The beauty of mother earth speaks to all of us; in the flowers, the trees, the birds and the smell of the rain. Embrace it, log it and remember it.
