With the discovery of Fat gene', the question is- will the scientists be able to prevent Obesity in the future? Scientists have discovered a gene that's responsible for making people more likely to absorb fat. As we all know that obesity is linked to many diseases like diabetes, high blood fat level and heart attacks, discovery of the Fat gene could be a major breakthrough in discovering drugs for obesity.

They are basically two copies of the genes and with these copies present always increasing the chances of being obese. But having confirmed with these genes linked to obesity should not stop, one from controlling his diet and doing exercise. But this does give a very clear explanation as to why some people are more obese than the others. A lot of research has been carried out and still on the progress with discovering its mechanism of action of the gene, so as to produce some inhibitors, which can prove to be an effective drug in the treatment of obesity.

A lot more trials need to be done before discovering a drug for obesity. This may be a challenge for most of the scientists now, but the not to forget the fact that maintaining a healthy lifestyle includes good diet and exercise is the key to ones good health.
