Uses for duct tape while backpacking, camping or hiking

Why limit yourself? Duct tape should be in every backpack, knapsack, camp gear, living room, kitchen, garage, barn, bathroom, and first aid kit. The uses are unlimited. Considering the fact that duct tape adheres to its own sticky surface with a vengeance, there is little on which you can't use it.

1. Wrap around a walking stick in the area where your hand will be, to avoid slivers, blisters, and any other discomforts.

2. Write on it with a marking pen for identification purposes.
3. Keep pairs of items together for quick recovery.
4. Break an aluminum rod on backpack? Insert stick and tape with duct tape.
5. Break handle on plastic water bucket? Weave small wire into both pieces and wrap with duct tape.
6. Forgot the moleskin? Cover forming blister with a gauze pad or piece of cloth, and attach duct tape. It can be torn in two for smaller pieces.
7. Crack in drinking bottle or cup? Wrap with duct tape.
8. Campfire cooking? Wrap on handles of utensils to reduce heat and insure grip.
9. Tent poles loosened or worn? Wrap with duct tape.
10. Tape sticks together at right angles to form an outline for a lean-to shelter.
11. Tears in tent, shelter, or backpack. Duct tape it.
12. Mark a trail by wrapping a piece of duct tape around a small branch along paths.
13. Leave notes on duct tape with indelible marking pen.
14. Helps remove ticks, leaches, burrs, etc., from your pets and from you.
15. Better yet, fold your pant legs around your ankle. Duct take them to discourage any little critters from crawling up under.
16. Tie your hiking boots. Duct tape around the laces to prevent catchin on things.
17. I use it to seal in bandages on my goat and don't have to change them as often.
18. When the goats go hiking with us, I tape knapsack straps down to prevent nibbling, which they are prone to do.
19. Holds splints in place should a major break occur.
20. Tape a toddler's fingers together. He will spend hours preoccupied with getting them free.
21. For some reason duct tape doesn't work too well repairing holes in air mattresses, but it works pretty well with plastic ones.
22. Dug a hole for a toilet? Tape a tarp in a large circle for privacy.

The list could go on forever, but you get the idea. If you conceive the need, duct tape will seal the need.

Don't get grease on it or you will have the gummiest mess you ever saw.
