I have learned so much from the animals in my life, I believe they are of spirit and in times of need, they are a way in which spirit can come close and bring love, comfort and guidance.

What a great teacher of unconditional love is the dog that still wags its tail in welcome to the neglectful master. How many thousands of dogs show love and loyalty to people who aren't even grateful or accepting of that love.

My horse and I are telepathic with each other, for instance, I dreamt one night that she had a pink skin over her and I was trying to catch her and pull it off. It was a disturbing and worrying dream and I woke up knowing there was something wrong. When I got to her that morning, she had a nasty cut on her leg...which I hadn't seen when she came into her stable, in the dark the previous night. She must have had a very uncomfortable night.

I have believed animals understand our communications since I was 11 years old and a cat of mine had kittens one morning, just before I went to school. Everytime I headed towards the door, the cat meowed loudly then I'd try to comfort her for a few minutes before going to the door again. Each time she got very upset until my mum told me to go and have a look in the shed in case she'd had a kitten in the night. That time, she made no noise when I went towards the door and there was a kitten in a box in the shed. I reunited the kitten with its mum and she ignored my final exit to school.

For me, animals are one of the many blessings we are given to support us as we make our way through this lifetime. They give so much more than we do, they surely are higher than us spiritually.
