Eating mostly raw food has helped to put my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in remission. I have experimented many times and this consistently works.
Some of the reasons why it works are these:
1) Raw food is much higher in vitamins and minerals than cooked foods.
2) Raw food contains life energy, which nourishes the gland centers which produce hormones. CFS is largely related to hormones, when it occurs in women.
3) Raw food is high in alkalinity, which gives the thyroid the alkalinity it needs to be able to absorb iodine correctly. (See http://biomedx.com/microscopes /rrintro/rr4.html for further explanation of why this is).
4) Raw food has a much higher fiber content, which sweeps out the colon, which has an effect on the whole body, because toxins aren't being sent out to the bloodstream to nourish the glands and organs, and the blood has more nutrition in it.
5) Raw food doesn't have as many pollutants and contaminants involved with it = less artificial things like preservatives and artificial colors. At times they still may be polluted, but not nearly as bad as the typical processed food.
6) Raw food contains the whole nutrition as it was meant to be consumed. Each vitamin and mineral must work hand in hand with others. To put an incomplete food in the body means the body has to rob its stores of stored minerals and vitamins to complete its digestion.
7) Raw food has all its enzymes intact. This is very important for digestion.
