TV show reviews: The Deadliest Catch

work with a man short, or be crippled in total amount of time at sea because of engine problems?

Will a boat like the Northwestern suffer loss of an entire tank of crabs because of one crab dying? Can a man who has been the chief engineer of a boat, be accepted by its crew as the new captain or will he be facing the possibility of mutiny?

Success and failure can be gaged by how many pots are pulled, and if a boat is over quota. For in crab fishing being over quota will cost a boat and it's crew a penalty that could be as much as a third of total profits.

The Deadliest Catch is a program that moves quickly, as I said at the beginning it is not for everyone. To be honest I did not watch the series in it's first season because I could not get into the concept of fishing for crab.

Yet in a day of too many television series being about people who whine at everything, and who can not seem to handle harsh reality The Deadliest Catch is a refreshing breath of salt air.

There may be a few who whine, but they either toughen up or the leave.

This is a show about struggle about working to overcome the most harsh environment, the Bearing sea. It is also about a type of man who know the only way he will make his money is by hard work and hard conditions.

If you are tired of unreal reality programs, situation comedies that aren't funny and dramatic television that keeps violating rules of writing to force people back to the series every season, then come on board The Deadliest Catch.
