There are always bars and clubs, but if you're not into the nightlife scene you're going to have to think of something else.

Groups are the best way to meet people.

You may meet "friends of friends" at your own circle of friend's social gatherings such as barbecues or parties. Ask the host to invite any single men they know, who have similar things in common with you and are interested in finding a partner.

If your circle of friends has moved on because they have all paired up or if you are new to the area, you are going to have to find a new group.

Church groups offer lots of opportunities to socialize and meet people. Sports or hobbies are other ways groups get together if church is not for you. Join a gym or walking group. Take an art and craft class or enroll in a short course of a subject you are interested in at night school.

Check your local paper or phone book for any social groups in your area or start one of your own. Additionally look for any community groups who offer volunteer work. This way you could learn a new skill and meet people at the same time.

Most importantly look like you're having fun no matter what you are doing. Happy people are attractive people. By being happy in your own skin men will be enchanted by you and want to ask you out.

Another good thing to remember is if a potential boyfriend does take an interest in you, make sure you smile to let him know you like him. Smiling will give him the confidence to talk to you and encourage him to stay talking to you for longer.

If you find you have lots of things in common and are getting along well together, switch telephone numbers. Go on a few dates then if you are still getting along well together, before you know it you'll have a boyfriend!
