The most successful way to get a boyfriend is to not try and get one at all. What men find most attractive in a woman is her ability to be herself and to like who she is. A friendly out going disposition and good conversation skills are also an advantage.

Most men like a challenge and enjoy the thrill of the chase. It is more rewarding for a man to woo a woman who doesn't appear interested in looking for a partner, then getting her to submit to his charms than it is for him to meet someone who is obviously looking.

Women who are obviously looking can appear desperate and needy and do nothing for a man's ego at all. In fact men may be scared off by women searching for a partner even if she is genuine. This is because they fear she could have an agenda, such as marriage, motherhood or be looking for financial support.

To attract the opposite sex the first thing you have to do is work on yourself. Take steps to be happy within yourself and have good self-esteem. Have an independent and fulfilling life by pursuing your interests and focusing on becoming financially secure. Accomplishing these things will make you more attractive by boosting your confidence.

Presentation is the next important thing. Be well groomed and dress in a style that suits your personality. Choose clothes to compliment your body shape and you feel comfortable in. Being comfortable in your clothes will make you appear (and feel) relaxed and men will find you attractive and "approachable".

While dress sense is important it is not a good idea to dress like a glamorous super model if you are looking for a man. You may be surprised to learn that many men find beautiful women intimidating. They are less inclined to approach them (even though they may like to) because they feel that the woman is "out of their league" and wouldn't be interested in them. If a man does get the courage to talk to you he might be so nervous and in awe of the way you look he may not be able to concentrate on making conversation with you.

Unfortunately you may limit yourself to men who regard you only as a conquest rather than a partner, while all the nice guys who would like to get to know you admire you from a distance.

Another way of limiting your choices is to dress too outlandishly in a way out radical style. If you are part of a group who dress the same way this shouldn't be a problem, but if you are a loner you're just going to scare people. Therefore if you want to get a boyfriend a rethink of your appearance may be nesecessry.
