Harry Will Not Die:
Dumbledore's death was nearly traumatic for many people. However, it did serve the plot, and help Harry to grow, and was highly dramatic. I don't think anyone is going to forget that fast. But Harry is different. If Harry were to die, it would ruin the entire series for many of us. It's entirely possible that the last movie would never be made, or would flop since very few of us want to see him die. I have no doubt that J.K. Rowling could write such a scene masterfully- but it would mean the slow death of Potter Fan-dom. I'm certain that money has very little to do with Rowling's choices any longer, but she's shown already that it's difficult for her to disappoint fans. Also, her argument that it would end the series beyond any attempt to pick it up again is flawed. The majority of her fans actually identify with Ron, Hermione, and Ginny more than we identify with Harry. Sure, she couldn't carry on writing about Harry- but she could easily continue writing in that world.
Harry Will Not Kill Voldemort:
Rowling is extremely careful in how she phrases things. Even filler events are gone over with a fine toothed comb to prevent misleading statements. Does anyone remember the Prophecy? "Neither will live while the other survives". At no point does the Prophecy say that one must kill the other; Harry is the one to make that assumption. Rowling knows what to leave open to interpretation, and what needs to be considered canon. It's possible that she hadn't decided at that point, and so chose to leave it open, but I believe she has something else up her sleeve. Right now, I'm leaning towards Ginny removing the Dark Lord from society.
Harry and Ginny:
There will be no "getting back together" scene. Harry will fight his desire to be with Ginny throughout the book building tension until the battle. Only after the climactic battle scene will they naturally fall together in relief.
Ron and Hermione:
It may be a little awkward during Fleur and Bill's wedding, but they will be a couple throughout the book.
Filch:
Rowling said in an interview that one of the characters who had never before used magic, would now use magic late in life. She also said that Petunia is, absolutely, a muggle (even though she followed that with a "but"). Filch, being a squib, has desperately wanted to use magic all of his life. He's even sent away for a correspondence course in magic! I believe that Rowling will have mercy on him, and allow him his day to
