How to avoid getting a hangover before drinking

The obvious and simplest, but most boring, solution to the great hangover problem is to not overindulge in the first place! But lets be honest, for many of us this isn't sensible advice!

However, like me if you have to indulge then... try to avoid dehydration as this is the main cause of your morning after hangover. Have you ever found that once you start drinking, you just can't keep away from the toilets? Well, think about the consequences of this.... So how to avoid the effects of this dashing off:

1) Drink plenty of water during and after you go out. Before going to bed try to drink at least a pint of water - and have a glass by your bedside for when you work during the night.

2) Choose to drink short (small liquid volumes) rather than beer, which tends to be served in larger volumes (Pints in the UK). Try to take as long to drink the smaller volume of liquid as you would over a beer.

3) Be prepared for the morning after. Have supplies of salty, sugary and vitamin rich foods ready. These, along with your water will help you return your body's balance to normal levels.

Hope this helps!
