We all love American Idol, and of course root for our favorites every week by voting millions of times to make sure they make it to the next round. Most of the times the judges are fair and just when it comes to comments even though we hate to hear them down our favorite singers. Normally if Simon says, then it's more or less true. The judges have however been wrong in the past, and corrected their errors if they made any that they are willing to admit to, but this year they have been very cruel and unfair to one particular contestant, and that is the young and beautiful Haley Scarnato.

Haley is a 24 year old girl from San Antonio Texas who auditioned this year and has made it thus far into the top 8 finalist of the competition. She has been constantly ridiculed by the judges and has hardly ever received a compliment. This past week was a flare of Latino music hosted by Jennifer Lopez and as usual Haley was met by extreme criticism by all three judges.

This week Haley sang the hit song "Turn the Beat Around" and did an amazing job. She was on pitch, sang in key and looked amazing. She did have a few problems pronouncing her words, but by far had the best female vocal performance of the night. After her performance Randy said it was too Karaoke, Paula said it was not that great, and Simon was as usual unimpressed, although believe it or not he was less rude, in terms of criticism then the others. Simon did however mention that she was only going to get anywhere in this stage of the competition by her personality and looks because she had no where near the voice of others this year.

That is no way to treat a contestant that has continually preformed well each and every week. Haley has one of the most amazing voices that have ever come from the talent competition. The only thing is that the other female singers have a much "bigger" voice however aside form Melinda Doolittle none of them are all that different. I will admit that Haley may not be the best singer, but during the course of the show this last week she was bar far the best female vocal, and overall second best, falling short to Blake Lewis, who is another great singer.

Week after week the judges have seeming tried to sway America to vote against Haley. In truth her being in the top 12 was even a hated decision by the judges. Randy was surprised that Haley had beaten out another contestant he considered to be a bit better then Haley. Randy and Paula both said things to the effect of "Congrats Haley, although America got it wrong." Randy even said that famed phrase "America got it wrong dawg" when it was announced that Haley had made the final cut making into the top 12.

Simon has remained critical of Haley, although to a lesser degree. Even if he does not like her, he still gives her honest advice, or so it seems. Haley has been tough this year taking things in stride. She says that Simon is her favorite judge because he is son honest, and she appreciates what he says, taking his words to heart and working with them, trying to be better.

Haley is an all around good person. She has met the man she is going to marry, and is a devout Christian. She prays before every performance, so that she will be at her best. Her own idols include singing legend Celine Deon, and she admires her mom above anyone else. I for one am a true fan of Haley Scarnato, and hope that she will do well in this competition. Her voice has a different tone that is such a pleasure to hear in a world of very mundane music. She may not have the biggest voices this year, but she defiantly has one of the best, otherwise America would not have kept her around this long.
