FFA is one of the greatest organizations in the entire United States for young men and women. FFA stands for Future Farmers of America. FFA was founded in 1928 at the Baltimore Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. It wasn't until 1969 that girls were allowed to be members. Since 1969, young men and women have built FFA into the great organization that it is today!

FFA offers a lot of opportunities to develop necessary skills and characteristics that are needed in life. Every state has a state association. Alaska has the smallest number of members and California has the largest. Even a former president was a member of the FFA. Jimmy Carter served as the FFA secretary for the Plains, Georgia FFA Chapter. Look at what he accomplished! He became the President of the Untied States!

Every year, FFA members from around the entire country gather at the National FFA Convention. Last year was the first year that the National FFA Convention was held in Indianapolis, IN. Numerous past presidents have addressed the National FFA Convention. George H.W. Bush addressed the Convention in 1991. Dwight Eisenhower and Gerald Ford were also past speakers at the Conventions. Even the most powerful people in the world know how great the FFA is and all it has to offer the young men and women of the United States and the world.
