Heavy metal

When Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana came from the underground scene in the beginning of the 90's, an era in the rock music was opening and another was closing.

Alternative music, led by Cobain and other powerful bands such as Pearl Jam, SoundGarden and Stone Temple Pilots, became the dead certificate of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal genres.

For more than a decade alternative music was the favorite of the so call Generation X and new music listeners in the United States, Latin America, Europe and many countries around the world.

Only the old fashion dudes, including me, listen heavy rock bands as Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and many more in that decade of decadence. !Sucks!
Many of the young guys said the heavy metal was ridiculous and boring. But now, in this time, reality is other.

The genre has survived and the alternative bands al gone or have low profile in the radio and music scenes. None of theme, Excluding Nirvana and Pearl Jam, has the label of "legends", contrary to Metallica, Black Sabbath, Megadeth and Slayer.

Still they are playing, selling albums and, the most important, going on tour around the planet.

Another good thing is the presence of new bands such as Shadows Fall, HellYeah, Slipknot,Velvet Revolvers, etc.
Heavy metal is alive, in shape and will not die because is the real genre of ages.
