to wear. I wanted to keep it all very simple, my fiance said, "Jeans and white shirts" I wanted to married barefoot, so he and I were barefoot.
I called my heterosexual lifemate and asked her if her mom and her could be at our house on Friday to perform the ceremony. They drove in from Chicago. Between her and my best friend, they wouldn't let it be as simple as I wanted it to be, but they made it even more special.
They decorated our stairway for me to walk down, they made all the foood, he bought me flowers to carry, champagne and a cake. My fiance and I wrote our own vows, he hung flowers in the archway in our living room and we stood in front of those, my heterosexual lifemates mom performed the ceremony, we were married by candlelight, barefoot, in jeans and white t shirts, with a total of 12 people there to witness it (that 12 included us and our two children). It was truly beautiful, and intimate and special. It wasn't huge and glamorous, but if I could do it over again, I wouldn't change a single thing.
And I have to tell you, my now husband was right. He is in better health then he ever has been, our life has completely turned around, we are blessed and grateful. And never have we been more in love with eachother, we are truly lucky and thankful for one another. Our bond will last forever and can stand anything.
