My husband and I have been together for years, but we have only been husband and wife for 4 months. I would like to share that story with you.
Last year was a really bad year for us, it seemed that everything that could possible go wrong decided to take its turn. It started with us bringin his mom from Pakistan to Canada for us to drive there to bring her to our then home in Indiana. I had pushed the idea, said that it would be okay. Her english was not the greatest, but it was more then fine for her and I to talk when we were alone. My husband would come home and all of a sudden she couldn't speak English.
Anyway, that was the start of the down fall of our year. She played games, mad elife miserable, my husband didn't even want to come home, she would throw fits. Our children didn't even want to be home. Our home based business that had just started to take off and had made us a sizeable income suddenly started to fall apart, we lost over $70K. My husband's health was on the decline and no one coudl explain what was going on, but he was literally unable to function. We were on the verge of loosing our house, we had already lost one car, we couldn't buy groceries and we didn't know what to do or where to turn. Christmas was barely livable and we were not looking forward to the new year.
On Decemeber 29th my then fiance and I took a drive and discussed our life and what we were going to do. He looked at me and said that he was sure we were going through hell as punishment for not being married. (Mind you, we were engaged and last year had postponed our wedding four times.)That is only we could get married everything would be fine.
I sat in our car and looked at himand I asked him, "Do you truly believe that your God is punishing us?" And he really felt that way. SO I said, "No one said we needed a big glorious wedding, we just needed us and a our children there, and if that was truly what he thought would turn life around for us we would go to the County City building when they opened on Monday or Tuesday, get or license and we get married on that coming Friday. We can have people here is our house, get married in the living room." He asked me if I was serious and I said yes so that was what we agreed to do. We went into the house told our kids, who were very excited and we made a few phone calls to tell the people that we were asking to be there that we were finally doing it on Friday. In the course of one conversation with our very good friends they asked what
