Being that I am single, I am constantly on the lookout for other singles that I could potentially have something in common with and could build a relationship with. While this isn't my direct goal, I figure that I should always be aware of what is out there, just to make sure that I don't miss out on someone that would be a truly incredible catch for myself.

During the time that I have been single however, I have found that there a lot of people that are incredibly bitter. This is especially true of the other guys that I meet that I either work with or that I go out to the bar with. There is nothing that can be more exciting than going out with a group of the guys, especially the single guys to a bar to pickup women or just to a pool hall to shoot some rounds. During this time, you generally talk about everything from sports to relationships. But it seems like the relationship talks for some people go back to how much they really hated the last woman that they dated, or how much they hated all of the last women that they had been with. It's like the people just can't let go of the past.

These types of people not only make it difficult for you to date, because you begin to think about all of the negative aspects of dating, but they use this negativity as a crutch to explain why each date that they go on fails. They just say that it's the fault of their last girlfriend that screwed them over and now they are unable to open up to another woman. Unfortunately, people like this are going to find it incredibly difficult to find a date if they continue to follow in this path.

The main thing that these people need to realize is that if they don't get past their previous relationships, they are going to ruin any future relationship that they could have, by dwelling on the past. So, it is important that you as a friend, help them to overcome the past and realize that they themselves are the ones that are ruining each and every date that they have and any chance for a future with anyone. If someone doesn't help out and step in, these people are going to stay on this path to self destruction and will never really move on in life and get past their previous relationships.

These people also need to realize that you need to think positively. You can't just judge everything in the future, especially people, based upon your past experiences. If a woman cheated on you in the past, it doesn't mean that they are going to do it in the future. You have to get them a chance to make a mistake, before you just make your assumptions. By making these assumptions, they are going to ruin their chances of developing a healthy, stable relationship and as such, will find themselves single for an incredibly long time.

It is important as a friend to offer as much support as possible to these friends and really help to guide them in the right direction. Whenever you hear them dwelling, make sure that you correct them and help them to get past it. The sooner that they are able to move on and become positive about their future prospects, the sooner they can pick themselves up and move on in life.
