Its true New Zealand is a good place to live. The population permits this being only approximately four million people in a land that has similar mass to Great Britain. In fact there are far more sheep than people. New Zealands main export is sheep and beef coming a close second.
I would say that if you are someone that enjoys the hustle and bustle of a large metropolitan city like London or New York then you may find New Zealand a little on the quiet side. Being quiet remote and isolated and in the South Pacific and a good four hour flight away from Sydney Australia means as far as travel goes you are tucked away from the world.
However if you are a person looking to bring up children or looking for the quiet life, New Zealand is the place to come.
The cost of living is relatively cheap, the air is clean and food is plentiful, and because New Zealand is largely a rural country crime is lower.
You can enjoy the outdoors, which is the country's main draw card for tourists. There are the southern alps in the South Island. A string of high altitude snow capped mountains down the length of the Island which host some of the best snow sports in the world. Or if your the other way inclined, you can head north in the summer for the large sandy beaches up the coast of the North Island.
Another bonus financially is that New Zealands currency is allot lower than many other countries in the world like The United States, Great Britain and all countries in Europe that have the Euro. For example the exchange rate on the British Pound is three to one. For every UK pound you get three New Zealand dollars. For every Euro dollar you get two New Zealand dollars.
So therefore it can be easy to set yourself up in New Zealand coming from overseas.
