My fiance and I have been together for going on 17 years. He has been playing online games for about 12 years. At first, I complained, nagged and whined about him playing from the time he got home from work until bedtime on weekdays and from dawn to dusk on weekends. Then, I decided what the heck I may as well try the gaming thing out for myself. Mind you, he had to start from scratch teaching me how to play. I mean I could barely turn the computer on then. Seeing as how my family never had enough money to even think about buying a computer.
Slowly, he taught me to play his favorite game which can be played on or offline. I decided until I learned more about it, I was definitely playing offline. The game in case you are wondering is called NeverWinterNights. It is along the lines of the old Dungeons And Dragons or D&D for short. It's an amazing roleplaying game. Super fast and fun way to pass the time. It can be quite addictive though. Well, there are many things much worse to become addicted to.
So, there you have it. At first, I joined the gaming community to be able to spend quality time with my man. Now, I am as addicted to this game as he is. By the way, in case anyone is curious, we have since bought our second computer so we can both play at the same time. Yay! LOL! Oh and lucky me, i don't work so I get to play as much as I want (provided the meals are cooked and the house clean and the laundry is done).
So, ladies (and some men) , instead of complaining, nagging and whining that he (or she) plays games more than spends time with you, maybe give the game a shot. You may enjoy it immensely. Also, believe me when I say if you do start playing the game together, you will be atleast twice as close as you are now to your significant other.
