may not appeal to everyone, Bush then tells us of the terrible things that Saddam is doing to his own people. Which was true, but there were other countries doing the same thing and they were not attacked. Now with the support of the American people Bush attacks Iraq. In my opinion it was not because it might have been a terrorist hideout or a threat to the US, or for weapons of mass destruction, or even because people were being mistreated. I believe it was because of a vendetta and for the oil. The day Bush attacked Iraq he urged the Iraqi people not to bother the oil wells and remember Bush's statement that he wanted to get Saddam because he threatened his father.
I think George W. Bush thought that this war would not last long and would be like the war his father fought against Saddam, where the soldiers were giving up to get a bite to eat. Our young men and women are dying in a war that very few people believe in anymore and Bush wants to stay the course. I believe it's because he painted himself into a corner and to save face for a mistake he's made.
To sum up, George W. Bush's term as President of the United States is coming to an end and as I look back over that term I see a legacy of mistakes, confusion and downright stupidity at times. Yes the future will dictate President Bush's legacy, but I don't think it will be much different from what I think.
