George W. Bush's legacy

Although legacies are dictated by the future, after almost eight years as President I think George W. Bush's legacy has already been written. His Presidency started out in turmoil and controversy and now looks like it will end in turmoil and controversy.

Bush started his Presidency under a cloud of controversy with the Florida voting miscount. A count that had him ahead of Al Gore, but with a doubt that all the votes were actually counted or were even all in at the time. Add to that his brother was the Governor of the state and we could have been looking at some under handed dealings at the time. During his Presidency the economy went way down and Bush's no child left behind program turned out to be worst for the kids than things were before. Then that tragic day in 2001, September 11th, the day that every US citizen will remember for life. Bush at first seemed heroic and on top of things, but we find out in the Michael Moore film "Fahrenheit 9/11" that Bush was anything but. He was confused and dumb founded. He seemed to need somebody to tell him what he should do.

With the tragic events of 9/11 forcing him into action, Bush once again faced our country as a hero proclaiming his war on terror and that he would hunt down and kill the people that did this to our country. Bush took us into Afghanistan and changed the government of that country to a more USA friendly country. But, he still hasn't caught and killed the person responsible for the events of September 11th 2001. Instead he decided to go after a person that had nothing to do with those tragic events.

Bush first said that Saddam Hussein had "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and is trying to keep the UN from finding them. Well, he did have good reason to think that because his father had given Saddam those weapons some years back. When the UN kept letting Saddam play his games of hide and seek and did nothing about it, Bush decided that the US was going to declare war on Iraq and go in there and find those weapons of mass destruction. The United Nations, the world's police, told Bush no, you can't do that. Bush told the United Nations that they can't tell him what to do and attacked Iraq anyway. My question is, if Bush went against the word of the world police, doesn't that make him a criminal?

Bush knowing that he couldn't go to war without the support of the American citizens tells us the Saddam is hovering terrorist, some of the same ones that attacked our country. This was not true. Fearing that this story
