Setting up a gift registry can be a very fun and exciting experience. In today's day in age, many people live together before getting married, and feel like they have everything they need. Here are some tips for setting up your gift registry.

Don't be afraid to add high ticket items to your gift registry. Many times a group of people or family, will pitch in to get you a high priced gift. So go ahead and add that riding lawn mower or fancy gas grill.

Though you may have all the necessities of living, you may have some things that need replaced, or maybe you just need more of something, such as sheets or towels. Most people keep towels until they start getting raggedy, but you don't have to! This is your opportunity to get those towels replaced.

You do not have to limit yourselves to one gift registry. Many stores are not going to carry everything that you need or want, so you need to set up gift registries in several different stores. It is a good idea to send a little printed card that lists all of your gift registries in the wedding invitation to give people a head start in shopping for you.

Make sure to check your gift registries to keep them current. If you get something that is on your list before the wedding, make sure to take it off of the registry so that you do not get the same thing over and over.
