The average football player in the CFL makes around probably $250 000 and in the NFL about $1.4 million . Now compare this to the other popular spots in america. Hockey the players make an average of $1.7 million , basketball the players make an average of $4.9 million , baseball the players make an average of $2.5 million. Now taking this into consideration along with the much higher risk of getting injured in football, can you really complain about their salaries?

Can u really complain about the salaries of the football players, i mean, it's the other sports we should be worried about first isn't it? I mean the only big sport with lower paid players then football is soccer, and even there david beckham is now getting paid $250 million for a 5 year contract.
Football is also one of the most dangerous sports out there. Hockey has its number of injuries, basketball and baseball have barely any though, and i think that should be a huge factor in their salary. They all have an equal amount of training and need an equal amount of commitement.
I don't think football players get paid too much. I think it's one of the only sports in which they earn their pay. Football is one of the toughest sports out there! I agree that the NHL , MLB and NBA all have over paid players but football is pretty fair. After all they play for our entertainment and that is an important job, it keeps the public happy.
