Spring crafts for kids and families

I love the sound of the spring wind tinkling on metal. I like the way the wind makes chimes sway. You can buy them at the store, or you can make your own. This is a fun and easy recipe. (Parents, make sure you help your kids, you don't want them to get cut.) Have fun with it!

*Redneck Wind chimes*

You will need:
Aluminum cans or pie pans
String
Scissors
Coat hanger
Paint (optional)

Poke two holes in each can (or pie tin) with the scissors. Cut as many pieces of strings as you have cans. Cut the strings about 30 inches long. Loop the string through each hole in the can and tie a knot. Tie the other end of the string to the clothes hanger. Repeat this process until all the cans are strung and secured to the hanger. (You could also fasten some of the cans together to make the chimes two or three levels. It just depends on how big you want it to be.) If you choose to, you can paint and decorate your creation. You may also want to use stickers, or other art additives. Use your imagination and you will have a masterpiece on your hands! Hang your new chimes outside and let the wind take it from there.
