So many choices what to do? Choosing pasta for your dish can be a little baffling but with a little information about your choices, you can easily pick the perfect pasta for you dish.
One of your first considerations in choosing pasta will be time. Often times when making soups homemade noodles offer a heartier homemade feeling to the meal. Unfortunately, we don't always have time to make our own noodles. So keep these tips in mind when you're worried about time, smaller thinner pasta will cook faster than bulkier pastas. Beware though that if cooked to long they will become sticky and gum together so be sure to add these noodles when precooked late in the cook time for your meal. For longer cook times, use a thicker, shorter noodle.
Color is also a consideration in choosing pasta. Colors are influenced usually by adding food products, like tomato for example to give the pasta a red color. So be careful to pick a color that not only matches your dish but complement the flavor as well. Color adds an amazing touch to food so don't be afraid and jazz it up.
There now, that isn't so hard is it? Just have fun with it and don't be afraid to try something new.
