The greatest upsets in NCAA tournament history

The greatest upset in NCAA tournament history is obviously the NC-State/Houston game in 1983. That one is without question. Another good choice happened this year, VCU beating Duke. But the one for the ages was a few years ago (2004?) when Wake Forest lost to West Virginia. Not only was this an upset, it was also an instant classic (if not, then it should have been). A lineup of Chris Paul, Justin Gray, and a coach in Skip Prosser getting outplayed by a then-unknowns of Kevin Pittsnoggle, Mike Gansey, and coach John Belein. The game itself was already exciting, having gone into multiple overtimes, and the score ending up like an NBA score (believe it was 104-101 in double OT, give or take). That game lasted until late at night, and had to be the game of that year's tournament. It was then that everyone started to pay attention to West Virginia, as they would continue on to the Elite Eight before bowing out to Francisco Garcia's Louisville Cardinals (and in that game, they were up by 20 at one point, only to collapse and lose in OT). West Virginia had been largely ignored since Jerry West was there pretty much, and it took that one upset against Wake Forest to bring them back. That's quite an accomplishment.
