Top 2007 spring fashion trends

While winter is the season of windy, cold nights, spring is the season that means warm, sunny afternoons. The sun comes out and we are ready to box up those dark colors and thick sweaters. Fashion becomes showing off and celebrating our bodies instead of covering them up. The fashion trend for Spring 2007 is the collision of two completely opposite styles. The looks are both retro 80's and the Bohemian peasant.

TOPS

The 80s styles is all about loud colors and sharp lines. Think reds, greens, and blues blended with squares, crisscrossing patters, and polka dots. The shirts are designed as off the shoulder or halter style with an open back.

The peasant look is more ruffled cuffs and high waists. Flower prints on the bodices or eyelets decorate the hemlines. Pastel tank tops with embossing are also popular.

BOTTOMS

Capris. This look has been back each season, but this year they're tighter and shorter. The softer cargo or khaki material partners well with the peasant tops while jeans and the ever bold white works well with the 80s halter tops.

Skirts. Spring will be dominated by the whimsical, flowy skirt. Softer colors like yellow, beige and a mix of those pastels. Look for layers at the bottoms and of course, those floral patterns.

Short Shorts. The 80s answer to the skirt. These daring shorts stop just at the thigh- hopefully paired with the right shirt or people may question what you've got-or not got- on! The boys are sure to love them.

DRESSES

Sun-dresses are back in demand. From long to short, all with scenes from nature. Red or blue flowers, yellow curving vines, and earth toned colors. Most are done with squared straps and empire waist to make the skirt move with the body.

The big retro look takes us back to those colors. Big patterns of geometric shapes that mix squares and triangles with strokes of green or red. Halter necks or strapless with a ruched or belted waists complete this look.

SHOES

Back again are the ballet slippers or flat slides. It's the dainty, sweet shoe that looks perfect with the softness of the peasant style. Spring also means bringing out those sandals. Leather thongs with bead work or seashells are showing up on store shelves.

And what would an 80s look be without the signature wedged mules? Of course they done in all the right colors red, green, even neon and mettalics.

ACCESSORIES

To accent any outfit, a girl needs her purse. This season is all about the canvas tote. Bright colors, stripes and polka dots are the perfect compliment to any look. The bronze, copper, and gold handbags are also making an appearance.

For 80s jewelry, think big and chunky- from metallic hoops to bright triangles/squares of color. Headbands of the same design are also trendy this season. Not to be outdone, the peasant look opts for more beach like accessories. From necklaces to earrings, its all done in shells, turquoise, and beaded designs.

The fashion trends for 2007 wont leave any girl bored or penniless. It encompasses one extreme to the next in colors, patterns, and designs and can be found at all the discount shops. From laid-back breezy girl to wild and chic, there is enough to satisfy any mood.
