I think black athletes dominate sports because genetically people of African descent tend to be built stronger. Since the early 18th century when Africans where brought to the West Indies, blacks were kind of breed in order to make the strongest most productive men and women. Western culture especially America is opposed to anything that demonstrates a race being more productive or better than the Caucasian race. If you pay attention to media reports people are extremely comfortable with blaming blacks for AIDS, crime, ignorance, and other unattractive attributes. However our culture has always been opposed to reporting or better yet acknowledging the positive attributes of the black culture. I'm proud to live in the melting pot of the world however it also saddens me that we still haven't progressed enough to give credit to all ethnicities even the minorities. We live in a age where information is abundant and flows freely everywhere. Public opinion plays a huge role in our society and how we interact. If we changed stereotypes and gave praise to people regardless of their ethnicity or sex the majority would no longer be able to make individuals in the minority feel inferior. I realize we are more civilized then some other countries but, every person of minority is aware of their difference when they are in the market, office, library, or any public place and that is a fact. While the privileged individuals who don't suffer the same stigma don't experience the rumbling in their stomach while standing alone amongst the majority.
