Sometimes, the so-called miracles happen and there's nothing, in the reality, that makes it impossible or wrong the American vote for a Black man or for a woman; on the contrary, I really hope it will happen soon, also remembering that the "classic" American Presidents whom America has voted to date (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant or Catholic, like J.F. Kennedy) have not been monsters of political and cultural brilliantness and it's even difficult to be worse than G. W. Bush, his father or Ronald Reagan. Also Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were surely not geniuses and Nixon was obliged to resign by the Watergate scandal in 1974 after having exaggerated with the "dirty tricks" during the electoral campaign. Despite this need of a real change, I not very optimist about this historic change.

The guys quoted above have won the presidential elections because full of money, largely derived from the economic support by powerful and influent economic, religious or ethnic lobbies and because able to impress the voters through TV (and today the Internet too) with easy populist promises carefully targeted to the conservative and moderate electorate. Surely, a Black man or woman or simply a woman of whatever ethnicity or religion haven't neither had the chance to win the US presidential election and, in most of cases, neither to win the primary elections inside the Republican or Democratic Parties.

Why this?

This never happened not for their poor competence, honesty and political ability; a first reason can be found in the racist diffidence of too many Americans against candidates coming from the Black, Hispanic, Chinese or Italian communities.
This racism is also inter-ethnic among the communities mentioned above so that it's difficult that the Black community could vote for a candidate of the Chinese or Italian community and conversely.

All these crossed racist ideas or simple diffident behaviours are important to block the run of these candidates toward the White House because America is the great "festival of prejudices": the White Americans tend to think the Black are "inferior and extremists against the White men", the Black Americans of the ghettos tend to think the White are "all racist and discriminatory against Black people"; the Italians hate the Black people because the latter are not White; the WASP hate the Italians because these are "Papist and Mafiosi", the Hispanic are hated by everybody because "all illegal, poor and a danger for the Sacred American Values";
