Cars of today sure aren't made like they were used to. Everything today is made of lightweight materials that just fold like an accordion when you get into a traffic accident. I think it's more dangerous than the old muscle cars. To me, the first thing that makes a muscle car is the body frame. It has to be steel and big. Nothing says muscle like good ol' steel frames, and they are much safer when impacted. Sure, they didn't have airbags back then but the design of the frame made it sturdier when hit causing less injury then today's designs. Another thing that makes a car a muscle car is a huge ridiculous engine that lets the car go warp speed 6. You have got to have the horsepower for a muscle car and a good rule of thumb, you can never have enough horsepower. Even though I'm not a big fan of manual transmissions, I think a true muscle car should be a manual rather than an automatic. Just something about shifting gears goes hand in hand with pure muscle. The paint has got to be a bright color, I'm not talking pastels here, but nothing plain Jane like today, muscle cars have color to them which makes them stand out proudly. The last two ingredients of a a true muscle car: whitewalls and fuzzy dice hanging off the mirror.
