Dressing to make the most out of a small chest

Necklines are the key. Forget deep V-necks no-one wants to look at a boney chest. V-necks actually make the area appear narrower. The idea is to widen the area not elongate it. Although a higher V-neck may be suitable, the bottom of the V should be in line with your underarms, no lower. One of the best necklines for a small bust is the sweetheart neckline.

Round necklines are a good choice, but look better if the top has shaping at the waist. If you have nice arms then a tank top would be a good choice.

Neckline embellishments such as embroidery, beading, sequins, fringes and flounces can be worn successfully by small busted women. Take care that you don't overdo it with the flounces, it can have the opposite effect. Moderation is the key especially for the mature woman.

You can also divert the attention from the bust elsewhere, full skirts with hemline embellishment will draw the eye down. Cinching the waist will give the appearance of a larger bust.

The next thing is to make sure you have the correct bra for the top you will be wearing. Molded cup bras are a good choice, they have smooth cups and give a wonderful shape without too much bulk. Underwires are unimportant, it's the shape of the cups that enhance a small bust not the underwire. Underwires are designed to separate the breasts, this is usually not a problem for small busted women. Underwired bras rarely fit small busted women well who usually have wider breasts where most of the breast tissue on the sides. If you can get a non-underwired foam molded cup bra your breasts will settle better under the cups and feel more comfortable. Bras with gel inserts or booster bras can feel uncomfortable and look unnatural. Fiddling with an ill-fitting booster bra all day is not dressing to make the most out of a small bust.

So ladies just a few tips from one who's "been there, done that and bought the T shirt, (that is, one with a shaped waist and a round embellished neckline).
