Poetry: Humorous

by DJ

The Asylum

We steal through the dark of the night,
In anticipation of a delightful cool fright.
Crawling and slithering across the cold floor,
Passing the nurses station and their big door.

Lights out at ten and television is turned off,
Treating us like children, they have to be tough.
I don't know what goes through their goofy brain,
We are not animals in a circus to simply train.

If we get caught the consequences are very real,
Almost as cruel and awful as our very last meal.
All for a puff of a smoke or a mind blowing toke.
Now it's time to return lest the ward has awoke.

To be insane has some truly awesome great perks,
But you must remember to be aware of the quirks!
We sit around and joke about staff after hours,
Even though this makes the nurses quite sour!
