Easter is here, and although we all know what Easter means as a religion, human beings have taken the event a step further, used it for family get togethers, and added presents to the equation, although in our house we don't really spend an awful lot of money on gifts for events like this, since every day of our lives we are confronted with responsibilities that take money.

Many couples are in the same boat, and deprive themselves of those special things because the kids come first, though stopping and thinking about the potential fun that can be had with presents for adults as well as children that don't cost a fortune, but really do make an adult smile is worth it. Knowing what the adult likes in the way of chocolate is a good start, and Easter is getting more inventive here in France. The supermarkets have so many fun items;

1)Traditional bought eggs
A bit boring for an adult. Kids love them, but it's not that imaginative.
2)Chickens
These are rather fun items and the imagination of makers has made the range fun this year, including cartoon characters.
3)Rabbits
Lovable creatures, and certainly a great fun present for a lady.
4)Bells
This is a traditional French present. The chocolate Bell is symbolic of Easter's reason, as the Church bells throughout the country will ring out on Easter morning reminding us of our roots, and reason for life.

The variety of chocolates is amazing and this year even included dogs, bears, cats and monkeys ! Somewhere out there is that fun present that suits the adult friend that doesn't self indulge, giving them a moment of childish pleasure they merit, when life is otherwise serious and dull.

For the older people that live in their own.

Here, I buy standard easter eggs and cut them into two, fill them with the person's favorite sweeties, or a little fun gift, then with a hot knife put them back together, and ice a row of flowers around the join, piped trelliswork across the egg and top it off with the name of the person, making their gift unique. The pleasure it gives never ceases to amaze me. So little spent, so much achieved in that each person knows that the gift was designed especially for them.

Adults need pampering too, and Easter presents opportunity to do it without breaking the bank. Bring out the kid in your adult friends and share.
