Don't get me wrong. There are plenty of things wrong with Iron Mike Tyson. From that monstrosity he calls a tattoo on his left eye to his numerous bouts (and losses) with the law, Tyson has captivated the worldwide public for all the wrong reasons. But, truth be told, there is a little Iron Mike in all of us. Mike Tyson represents the inner rage we all have hidden inside of us but rarely ever dare to expose to the public eye. We are taught in society to turn the other cheek when placed in an uncomfortable situation. Think about times when you may have been picked on as a child or, as an adult, cut off driving and had to listen to an idiot scream every curse word in the book unnecessarily. You are taught to walk away and ignore them when, deep down, you know a swift punch to the nose would provide the perfect remedy to the situation. Mike Tyson represents that animalistic aggression that, given the proper circumstances, we wish we could unleash to the entire world. While I do not condone most of his actions (Indiana rape case, ear biting, etc), I can understand where he is coming from. Most of Tyson's troubles started after a father figure in his life, Cus D'Amato, passed away. All that passion which was saved for the ring was then unleashed on the public. Had he had someone in his corner to not only control him, but to guide him, we are not discussing what is wrong with Mike Tyson. The discussion more than likely would be where he ranks among not only the greatest heavyweights of all time, but the greatest athletes of all times. We all do have a little Mike Tyson in all of us. Its is just more of a controlled version. That aggressive sales man/woman who wont take no for an answer has a little Iron Mike in them. That billionaire who is still looking for the next best deal has a little Iron Mike in him. So, instead of asking what is wrong with Iron Mike, ask yourself: Is it time to bring out my inner Mike Tyson?
