Racism in America

likely to live in poverty

- more likely to be incarcerated

- more likely to attend substandard public schools

- more likely to die in a violent manner

- more likely to be a single parent

Is this racism? If it is not, it is at least the result of many decades of minorities suffering from institutionalized racism. Many tools have been provided for those who have the desire to escape the net of poverty in which they find themselves enmeshed; however these tools require the individual to take the necessary steps, while also not being artificially restrained by individual racists or semi-institutionalized racism.

Success never comes easy, but a self-belief in one's own ability to succeed is the first step. A desire to overcome challenges rather than seeking the easy way out is a necessity. The ability to accept the weaknesses in other's as being a failure on their part on not on your part will complete the success. Giving up on yourself, or listening to those pessimistic naysayers who want to continue living in the white dominated early America tradition will simply be an excuse for ultimate failure. Keep your chin up, ignore the ignorance of racism, and make your own road to the top.

Success in America is based upon doing something for yourself. You have the ability, now you have to provide your own blood, sweat and tears.
