My sister-in-law owned an orange Gremlin. I thought she was so cool, I was just fourteen and everything was cool back then. She was my big sister I never had,(God blessed me with three brothers)she was my icon of cool. She would invite me to the beach on her days off. She loved her Gremlin so much we washed and vacuumed it every other week-end. Her older brother bought it for her as a high school graduation present. It was called Betsy, I haven't thought about that car in years until recently. It brought so much joy to my sister in law and I, singing with radio and the windows rolled down. It was the first car I ever drove. It has been 15 years since she passed away giving birth to my second nephew. I show her sons pictures of their mom and dad and I posing with the car. Their wedding picture of them and their Gremlin all dressed up. My brother hardly drove it since Karen died, he just gave it to my eldest nephew for his twenty first birthday. He kept it in his garage since then and would just go out and start her up, with my young nephew sitting with him. He would tell them stories of the good old days and how their mom loved her Betsy. They would help him wash the car and vacuum it
