Cultural hatred: Will humans ever change their thought process?

There are two simple reasons why humans have such a 'hatred' of different cultures.

The first is commmunication. If we speak the same language, understand the same religion, and have the same history - it is quite easy to understand eachother. We know of eachothers goals, eachothers fears, eachothers loves. We do not have a need to strike first to prevent them from striking us, because we understand what motivates them and can thus alleviate such concerns diplomatically. We have an inherent trust because we recognize them to be the same as ourselves.

The second is the 'scope of compassion'. You see, we can not have compassion for every person and every creature on the planet - it would be overwhelming. And so, we must limit what we care about. For some it is family, for others it is the neighbourhood. Yet, for others it is their race, or those that share the same religious beliefs

As for change, we have seen great change in the last fifty years. In North American and Europe we are seeing cultures live and work together that would have despised eachother in their home nations. Prosperity, communication, and trust are all growing, and with it is a lessening of hatred and increase in tolerance.
